It draws together ten years of work, from the air moving behind a ventilated façade to the question of which roofs a whole agglomeration should equip first. The manuscript is openly available on HAL.</description>

      <description>Guillaume Le Gall&#39;s work on higher-order orthogonal decomposition of shortwave radiation in urban contexts is out in the International Journal of Thermal Sciences. Three-dimensional urban geometry makes incident solar radiation vary across many spatial and temporal scales at once. The paper shows that a small number of modes can stand in for a full simulation of that field.</description>

Planning what to install next is much easier when you know what is already there. The method applies convolutional neural networks to aerial imagery, building by building, at national scale.</description>
